Australia has on of the highest rates of eczema in the world and it looks like it’s set to increase in the coming years. Hundreds of “adult Australians are suffering from a common, life-long, inflammatory skin disease are at risk of physical, psychological and financial pressures. This burden also extends to their carers and the community at large” according to new research released by Eczema Association of Australia.

The genetic factor combined with an increase in the environmental triggers, such as chemicals found in most skin care items and other products handled by individuals, are thought to be responsible for the recent spike in people suffering from eczema.
